beatrice lillie

I just looked at way too many photographs of Beatrice Lillie. I think she's so fantastic, and in reading about her, I stumbled upon all of these other really fascinating women, and their stories involved scandal and murder and lots of fascinating things. I just had a fortune cookie and a tall glass of water, and now I'm going to bed.

back at home

Last night, voting ended for the first round of Lollapalooza's Last Band Standing. Over 900 bands competed for a spot in the top 100 to move onto round two, and our little band named Foxbaby came in at number 18! That means we can take a week off from promoting ourselves, and promoting ourselves (and promoting ourselves). But the battle has just begun.

Being home feels stranger and stranger every day. House parties aren't as common here since most of the houses my friends come home to are still the homes of their parents. There's The Upstairs, but I haven't exactly gotten used to the concept of having to drive home after a night out. The difficulty of it all sort of makes me want to stay in, but I know that's not the right move.

I've been home for a little more than a week, and I still haven't unpacked. There are boxes and messes in my room. I'm going to try my best to clean it up today.

I saw a great movie called Jellyfish a few days ago. I think I liked it because, at the beginning, while it made some really smart decisions, it was meaningless to me. And then, out of nowhere, it gathered up all of this meaning, out of nowhere. I've also included a bit of music from a group that I like a lot right now.

the end of school

I'll be going home in a few days and I'm very excited about it. Since school is winding down, you can bet that if someone is drunk, they're crying. Last night was fun and sad and all of that, and I'm sure tonight will be a lot of the same. Right now it's raining and I'm looking around my room, wondering where I'll be at this time next year. As far as going home, I think it'll be fantastic. I'm really looking forward to spending time in St.Louis. I think it's beautiful.
